It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to racing bud Richard ‘Dago Red’ Mariano and his wife Carol. Both list their battle with the Chinese Flu on March 2nd – within hours of each other. Dago was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Funny and witty! I bought the 77 Aspen that I raced a few times in NMC races from him. When I’d asked how much he wanted – he told me to race it a few times a pay him what I’d thought itbwas worth. While thought that was a nice gesture, we actually negotiated the price at the time I picked up.

We were the same age, and served in the USAF during the same period. He as an Air Traffic Controller.

They will be missed.
